Description

A Light-Tight, Humid Home for Seedlings and Cuttings

The Garden HighPro ProBox Propagator is a propagation tent built to hold the warm, humid, evenly lit conditions that seeds and cuttings need while they root. Every size uses tough 420D nylon over a patented steel frame, lined with 97% reflective Mylar certified as plant-friendly, and closes with light-proof zips and double-layer fabric sockets for air and cables. The low S and M boxes sit on a bench or shelf and take one or two trays; the 2m-tall L and XL towers stack trays on five levels, so a whole propagation room fits in a 60cm or 120cm footprint. The L and XL are also offered as kits with five Garden HighPro LEDMAXPRO propagation LED tubes, one for each level: 10W, 55cm tubes with the L and 20W, 110cm tubes with the XL.

What's Included

  • Tent Only: the ProBox Propagator tent in the size chosen
  • With LEDMAXPRO Lights (L and XL): the ProBox Propagator tent plus 5 x Garden HighPro LEDMAXPRO propagation LED tubes – 10W, 55cm with the L (50W in total); 20W, 110cm with the XL (100W in total)

Key Benefits

  • Up to 1,440 cuttings in the XL – ten 144-cell trays across five levels; the L takes five trays (up to 720)
  • 97% reflective Mylar lining – certified plant-friendly, it bounces light back onto every tray instead of losing it to the walls
  • Light-proof, humidity-holding build – sealed zips and closable sockets keep stray light out and moist air in
  • 420D nylon on a steel frame – tear-resistant cover over 1.6cm steel tubing that stays square and stable
  • Viewing windows – check trays without opening the door and letting the humidity out
  • Double-layer fabric sockets – 13.5cm air ports and 8cm cable ports for a small fan, lighting and heat-mat leads
  • Optional matched lighting – the L and XL kits add five cool-running LEDMAXPRO tubes (14,000K, IP66, rated 20,000 hours), one per level

Cuttings Wilting Before They Root?

A cutting has no roots to draw water, so until it strikes it relies on high humidity around its leaves. In an open room the humidity swings, draughts dry the foliage and stray light upsets the day length, so cuttings wilt, rot at the base or simply sit there. Seedlings under weak, uneven light stretch and go leggy. An enclosed, reflective tent fixes both problems: transpiring cuttings raise the humidity inside on their own, the sockets let you vent it as roots form, and the Mylar spreads light evenly over every tray for compact, steady growth and faster, more even root development.

How to Use

  • Build the frame and fit the cover; on the L and XL, set the levels to suit your trays and lights
  • Fit low-heat propagation lighting – with the LEDMAXPRO kit, clip one tube under each level above the tray; otherwise an LED strip or T5 above each tray – cables run through the 8cm sockets
  • Load the trays – the S takes one tray, the M two side by side, the L five (one per level) and the XL ten (two per level)
  • Manage humidity – keep the sockets closed while cuttings are fresh, then open them or add a small fan through a 13.5cm port as roots appear to harden plants off
  • Check through the windows rather than opening the door, and keep the lining clean between batches

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it come with lights?

Only with the LEDMAXPRO option, available on the L and XL: it adds five Garden HighPro LEDMAXPRO tubes, one for each level. Tent Only comes without lighting – fit any low-heat propagation light, such as an LED strip or T5 tube above each tray, with the leads fed through the 8cm cable sockets.

Which size do I need?

Count your trays. The S holds one standard tray and the M two side by side, both 40cm tall for a bench or shelf. The L stacks five trays on five levels in a 60 x 40cm footprint, and the XL ten trays (two per level) in 120 x 40cm.

How do I control humidity inside?

Cuttings raise the humidity themselves as they transpire, so keep the sockets closed for the first days. As roots form, open the window inlet or a 13.5cm air socket, or run a small fan through it, to bring humidity down gradually before moving plants on.

Can I run a heat mat in it?

Yes. Gentle base heat helps many cuttings root, and the 8cm cable sockets let you run heat-mat and light leads in while keeping the tent closed.
