Description

A Slim Cool Tube That Sends Lamp Heat Down the Duct

The Garden HighPro ProTube is a cool tube air-cooled reflector for single-ended HPS and Metal Halide lamps. The lamp sits inside a heat-resistant borosilicate glass tube with a duct collar at each end, so the extractor fan draws air straight through the tube and carries lamp heat away before it builds up around the plants. A dimpled aluminium reflector over the tube throws the light down across the canopy. Choose the 125mm (5") tube in 300mm or 400mm length, or the 150mm (6") tube at 400mm, to match your ducting and fan.

Key Benefits

  • Air-cooled lamp – heat goes out through the ducting instead of into the grow tent
  • Hang the light closer – a cooler lamp can sit nearer the canopy without scorching the top growth
  • Borosilicate glass tube – heat-resistant and clear, sealed by the duct collars at each end
  • Dimpled aluminium reflector – spreads light evenly down onto the plants
  • Direct duct fit – 125mm or 150mm collars push straight into standard ducting
  • Standard E40 lamp holder – takes the usual single-ended HPS and MH grow lamps

Is Lamp Heat Cooking Your Grow Tent?

An HPS or MH lamp turns a large share of its power into heat. In a small tent that heat pushes the temperature up, dries the air and forces the light higher, so less of it reaches the plants. A cool tube puts the lamp inside the airflow path of your extraction: the fan pulls air through the glass and out of the room, taking most of the lamp heat with it, which keeps the canopy cooler and lets you hang the light lower for stronger, more even growth.

How to Use

  • Fit the lamp – open one end of the tube and fit an E40 HPS or MH lamp that fits inside the tube length
  • Connect the ducting to both collars and seal each joint with a ducting clip
  • Put it in the extraction line – the fan draws air through the tube, either from the tent or from outside it, and exhausts it from the room
  • Hang level above the canopy and connect the lamp lead to a ballast of the matching wattage
  • Keep the glass clean – wipe it between runs so dust does not cut light output

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose 5 inch or 6 inch?

Match the tube to the ducting and fan you already run. The 6" (150mm) tube passes more air for more cooling; the 5" (125mm) suits smaller tents and 5" extraction lines.

What is the difference between the two 5 inch tubes?

Only the length: 300mm or 400mm. The longer tube leaves more room around a long lamp and spreads the light along a slightly longer footprint.

Does it come with a lamp or ballast?

No. It takes an E40 single-ended HPS or MH lamp and needs a ballast of the matching wattage, both sold separately.
