Description
A Complete Nursery Built for the Windowsill
Windowsills give good light but can run cool and draughty, which is exactly what the Garland Super 7 is designed around. It fits seven independent mini vented propagators onto one long, narrow heated base — sized to sit along a sill — so a wide range of seed varieties or cuttings can be started together.
Key Benefits
- 7 independent vented sections let you run seven different sowings side by side on one base
- 13W carbon fibre heated base lifts compost temperature by around 8°C above ambient
- Long, narrow 76cm x 18.5cm footprint is built to fit along a windowsill
- Each section has its own vented lid for individual humidity control
- Low running cost suited to leaving on through a full germination period
Countering a Cool, Draughty Windowsill
A windowsill's light is hard to beat, but the glass and frame nearby can keep compost noticeably cooler than the room, slowing germination even in a bright spot. The Super 7's heated base offsets that chill across all seven sections, so seedlings get the light of a windowsill without losing the warmth a propagator needs to get going.
How to Use
- Fill each of the seven trays with moist compost and sow seed or insert cuttings
- Fit the vented lids and stand the unit along the sill, away from direct draughts from an opening window
- Plug in — the 13W base is not thermostatically controlled and raises compost temperature by around 8°C above ambient
- Open the vents progressively as seedlings establish to manage humidity and reduce damping off
