Trapping Humidity Without an Electrical Base
Seeds and cuttings root and germinate faster in a humid, sheltered environment, but not every windowsill needs — or has room for — a heated unit. The Three Top's high dome covers hold humidity around the compost using the sill's own warmth, giving seedlings a head start with nothing to wire in.
How to Use
- Fill each of the three trays with moist compost or seed compost and sow seed, or insert cuttings
- Fit the high dome lids and stand the unit on a warm, bright windowsill
- Check compost moisture regularly, since the covers hold humidity in rather than adding heat
- Lift the domes off, or open them, once seedlings are established to acclimatise them before moving on
