Description
Three Heated Sections for a Cool Windowsill
The Garland Trio Top is a compact electric propagator built for a windowsill, combining three high dome propagators, each 23cm long by 17cm wide, with a heated base. It sits between the unheated Three Top and the seven-section Super 7, giving a heated middle option for a smaller windowsill run.
Key Benefits
- 13W carbon fibre heated base lifts compost temperature by around 8°C above ambient
- Three high dome sections, 23cm x 17cm each, for good headroom over seedlings and cuttings
- Long, narrow 76cm x 18.5cm footprint designed to fit along a windowsill
- Each dome lifts independently for watering or venting without disturbing the other sections
- Low-wattage base is economical to leave running through germination
Warming a Windowsill Sowing Without a Big Unit
A windowsill offers good light but often runs cooler than the rest of the room, which can slow germination even with a covered tray. The Trio Top's heated base takes the chill off the compost across all three sections, giving seedlings and cuttings a warmer start than an unheated windowsill propagator without needing the larger Super 7.
How to Use
- Fill each of the three trays with moist compost or rooting medium and sow seed or insert cuttings
- Fit the high dome lids and stand the unit along the sill, away from draughts
- Plug in — the 13W base is not thermostatically controlled and raises compost temperature by around 8°C above ambient
- Vent the domes as seedlings establish to manage humidity and reduce the risk of damping off
