The Greenbox Plug Socket Extension Board mounts switched UK 3-pin sockets on a single MDF backboard, giving you one fixed power point for fans, pumps, heaters, dehumidifiers, controllers and lighting drivers. The 10 Way board carries five double sockets in a slim column; the 16 Way carries eight twin 13A sockets on a wider board. Instead of chaining trailing leads and plug-in adaptors across the floor, everything runs from one board that sits where you put it, at a sensible height and away from water.

Why Not Just Use Extension Leads?

Daisy-chained leads and multi-plug adaptors are one of the most common causes of overheating and tripped circuits in grow rooms, and loose leads on a floor that sees spilt feed and run-off are a real hazard. A fixed socket board keeps every connection visible and in one place. Note that this is a plain socket board, not a timer or contactor: everything plugged in is live whenever the board is powered, so a bank of grow lights should still be switched through a contactor.

How to Use

• The board has a terminal block for the incoming supply rather than a fitted plug lead, so have it connected by a qualified electrician to a suitably rated, protected circuit.
• Mount it upright somewhere dry and ventilated, clear of reservoirs, irrigation lines, spray and condensation.
• Add up the wattage of everything plugged in and keep it within the rating of the circuit that feeds the board.
• Label each socket so fans, pumps and heaters can be found and switched off quickly.
