The Hailea V Series is a compact diaphragm air compressor in a cast aluminium-alloy shell with a double damping, multi-stage silencing system, which is why it runs quiet and feels heavy for its size. The air is non-oil-lubricated, so it stays clean all the way to the stone. Three sizes: V10 at 10 L/min, V20 at 20 L/min and V30 at 30 L/min. Unlike most pumps in this class the manifold, tubing and brass connector are included - a 4-way on the V10 and V20, a 6-way on the V30 - so it is plug-and-play for a multi-bucket DWC or a big reservoir.

Low dissolved oxygen in warm, still nutrient

Roots in a reservoir or DWC bucket depend on the air you push in: warm water holds less dissolved oxygen, and a pump sized for a fish tank leaves the bottom of a 20-litre bucket flat. Pick the V by stone count and water volume, and go up a size if the room runs warm.

How to Use

• Site the pump above the water line or fit non-return valves on each line.
• Connect the 8mm outlet to the supplied manifold and run standard 4mm airline from each tail to a stone.
• Sizing guide: V10 about 2-4 stones or up to roughly 100L; V20 about 4-8 stones or 200L; V30 about 6-10 stones or 300L.
• Keep the filter cover clean; it lifts off without tools.
