The Hortimol Slim 40W TLED is a complete LED grow light bar with its driver built in: 264 Osram LEDs and eight infrared LEDs on an aluminium profile 60.4cm long and 13cm wide, drawing 40W and producing 92 µmol/s at 2.3 µmol/J. Its FSG full-spectrum light is a 4000K white boosted with deep red at 660nm, aimed at seedlings, cuttings, mother plants, microgreens and vertical farming. It runs fanless and silent, is rated IP65 against splashes and dust, and comes with a braided wire hanging kit, so it can hang over a tray, fix under a shelf or mount on a wall for side lighting.

Stretched, pale seedlings under weak light
Seedlings and cuttings kept on a windowsill or under an old fluorescent tube reach for the light, putting on long, weak internodes and rooting slowly. A low-heat LED bar can sit close above the trays and spread even light along the whole shelf without drying out the propagator, so young plants stay compact, put their energy into root development and are ready to pot on sooner.
How to Use
- Mounting: hang the bar over the trays on the supplied braided wires, fix it flat under a shelf, or mount it vertically on a wall for side lighting
- Height: start a little higher over fresh cuttings and lower it as they establish - stretching means the bar can come closer; bleached or curling leaves mean raise it
- Coverage: one bar lights a 60cm shelf, propagator or tray run; fit bars side by side for wider benches
- Timing: run it on a timer; 16-18 hours a day is a common photoperiod for propagation and vegetative growth
- Power: connect through the 1.55m lead with its locking BNC connector; the driver accepts 100-277V

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a T5 tube that needs a fitting?
No. Despite the TLED / T5 name it is a complete LED bar with the driver built in. Plug in the lead and it runs; there are no tubes, ballasts or reflectors to buy.
What can I grow under it?
It is built for the early stages: seedlings, cuttings, mother plants, microgreens and leafy crops on shelves or racks. It is a propagation and vertical-farming light rather than the main light for flowering plants in a tent.
How many bars do I need?
One bar covers a 60cm shelf or a single propagator. For wider benches or a propagation tent, run two or more bars side by side so the light stays even across the trays.
Does it get hot?
Very little. The bar is fanless and passively cooled, and at 40W it puts out far less heat than fluorescent or HID lighting, so it can sit close above young plants.
