HYCLEAN from the makers of Hygrozyme is a non-toxic, biodegradable irrigation cleaner built on a proprietary chelating formula. Added to the feed from the start of a grow it stops salts, minerals and fertiliser residue settling in drip lines, emitters and growing media; at a higher rate it deep-cleans a system between crops. It is not a disinfectant or oxidiser, so it can be used with beneficial microbes and runs in soil, coco and hydro systems at any stage.

Blocked emitters, crusted media and poor nutrient uptake
Salt-based feeds leave residue behind. It crusts inside drip lines and emitters, cuts flow to some plants and not others, and builds up in the root zone where it raises EC and gets in the way of nutrient uptake, showing up as uneven growth and deficiency-like symptoms. HyClean keeps those salts in solution so they move through the system instead of settling, and the maker's testing showed root-zone EC reduced by up to 56% when it was used to clear built-up salts.
How to Use
- Preventative maintenance (every feed): 0.26 ml per litre added to the reservoir throughout the grow
- Clearing salt build-up from media: start at 0.26 ml per litre; for a faster EC drop use 0.5–1.3 ml per litre and check run-off EC
- Deep clean between crops: 2–5 ml per litre through lines and equipment, left to soak for up to 24 hours, then rinsed through with clean water; up to 10 ml per litre for heavy build-up
- Equipment soak: 2 ml per litre in a tub for shears, trays and fittings – at least 30 minutes, ideally 24 hours, then rinse
- Mixing: shake well; when tank-mixing with other products, do a small jar test first. On EC-controlled systems, watch EC for the first few applications as HyClean can lower readings
