The IWS Copper Disc is a simple genuine spare that solves one of the most common headaches in a flood and drain room. It sits copper side up in the bottom of your IWS inner pot, preventing roots from penetrating downwards and blocking up the system. Left alone, a healthy root mass grows out of the pot base, works into the pipework and chokes the return line - drainage turns sluggish, pots stay flooded too long, oxygen at the root zone drops and you end up with weak roots, poor nutrient uptake and stalled, slow-growing plants. A disc fitted at set-up prevents all of it in a couple of minutes. Available in 170mm and 250mm.

How to Use

• Fit at set-up: place the disc flat in the base of the IWS inner pot before adding substrate
• Orientation: the copper side must face up, towards the root ball
• Size matching: choose 170mm or 250mm so it sits flat without curling
• Then fill: add clay pebbles, coco or your chosen medium on top and plant as normal
• Between crops: lift out, rinse off salts and root debris, and refit
