Description
A plant-based foliar wash that keeps leaves clean at every stage of growth
Lost Coast Plant Therapy Plant Wash is a concentrated foliar plant wash made from food-grade, cosmetic-grade and organically derived ingredients: soybean oil, peppermint essential oil and citric acid, carried by plant-derived surfactants. Sprayed at 7.8 ml per litre, it spreads evenly over leaves and stems, lifting residues, dust and organic build-up from the leaf surface without leaving a harmful film when used as directed – in grow rooms, grow tents, greenhouses and outdoor beds, from cuttings through flowering and fruiting.
Key Benefits
- Plant-based formula – 38% soybean oil with peppermint oil and citric acid; non-GMO.
- Concentrated – just 7.8 ml per litre for a routine weekly wash.
- Gentle on young plants – Lost Coast rate it safe on cuttings and seedlings, and cuttings can be dipped in the diluted wash.
- No wetting agent needed – its own surfactants spread it evenly across leaf surfaces.
- Approved for organic growing in the US – Clean Green Certified, CCOF approved and Demeter Biodynamic, according to the maker.
Dusty, Residue-Coated Leaves?
Leaves in a grow room or greenhouse slowly collect a film of dust from intake air, dried foliar sprays and nutrient splash. That film shades the leaf, gets in the way of gas exchange through the stomata and makes the canopy harder to inspect. A regular diluted wash clears it, so photosynthesis and transpiration run unhindered and changes in plant health are easier to spot early.
How to Use
- Shake the concentrate well. Clear the sprayer lines, half-fill the sprayer with clean water, add the concentrate, then top up and shake.
- Routine wash: 7.8 ml per litre (1 fl oz per US gallon), once a week.
- Stronger mix: Lost Coast's range runs up to 15.6–23.4 ml per litre (2–3 fl oz per US gallon). Start at the lowest rate and test on one plant first, as some plants are more sensitive than others.
- Spray to full coverage – wet the whole plant, especially leaf undersides and stems, and agitate the sprayer about every 5 minutes.
- Indoors: spray under low light or lights off, and let plants dry fully before the lights come back on.
- Outdoors and in greenhouses: spray early in the morning or at dusk, never above 27°C (80°F).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it suitable for organic growing?
It is made from plant-derived, food-grade and cosmetic-grade ingredients with no synthetic or GMO inputs. In the US, Lost Coast list it as Clean Green Certified, CCOF approved and an approved input on Demeter Biodynamic farms; if you grow to a UK organic standard, check with your certifier.
Can I use it on cuttings and seedlings?
Yes. Lost Coast rate it safe on cuttings and young plants, and cuttings can be dipped in the diluted wash while in their cubes. Some plants are more sensitive than others, so try a few first.
When is the best time to spray?
Indoors, spray under low light or with the lights off and let the plants dry before the lights come back on. Outdoors, spray early in the morning or at dusk, and not when it is above 27°C (80°F).
Do I need to add a wetting agent?
No. It contains its own plant-derived surfactants and the maker says it performs best on its own. If you want to combine it with a foliar feed or another spray, test the mix on one plant first.
