A simple, heavy-duty ballast for 315W CMH lamps
The LumenLite 315W CMH Magnetic Ballast is a traditional core-and-coil ballast for running a single 315W ceramic metal halide (CDM/CMH) lamp. It is built into a powder-coated black steel case with vents for cooling, has a thermal cut-out, and uses a smart ignitor circuit that will not try to fire a lamp that is still hot or faulty. Magnetic ballasts have no electronics to fail and give off no radio interference, which makes them a reliable, low-cost way into CMH lighting and a useful spare to keep on the shelf. It comes wired with a UK plug.

How to Use
- Pair it only with a 315W CMH/CDM lamp and a 315W CMH reflector or lampholder - the ballast wattage must match the lamp.
- Stand it on a dry, level surface off the floor, outside the tent if possible, with space around it for air to move; never cover it.
- Connect the reflector's lamp lead to the ballast, fit the lamp, then plug the ballast into a timer or contactor rated for HID lighting.
- After switching off, allow the lamp to cool before restarting - the ignitor will wait for it.
- A magnetic ballast hums slightly and runs warm in use; this is normal.
