Maxibright Varidrive 600W Dimmable Ballast – Digital Control, Dial-In Output

The Maxibright Varidrive 600W Ballast is a lightweight, silent-running digital ballast built for any reflector with a standard IEC lamp socket. A single front dial switches output between 250W, 400W, 600W and a boosted 'super-lumens' setting, so one ballast covers propagation-stage dimming right through to a full-power flowering run, all from HPS or MH lamps.

Controllable (RJ11) Version – Run the Room From One Controller

The Controllable (RJ11) version is Maxibright's Varidrive Control ballast: the same 600W Varidrive with two RJ11 controller ports and an EXT position on the dial. Turn the dial to EXT, link the ballasts with RJ cables, and a Maxibright Varidrive LED/HID Controller takes over switching on and off, sunrise and sunset ramps, dimming as the room warms and shutdown at a set temperature – up to 100 ballasts can run from one controller. Leave the dial on 250W, 400W, 600W or boost and it works as a normal stand-alone ballast. It is also compatible with Maxibright's ballast-driven Varidrive 720W and Varidrive Compact 720W LED fixtures.

How to Use

Connect the ballast between the mains and your reflector's lamp lead, then set the front dial to match the lamp's rated wattage — 250W or 400W for propagation and early veg where a lower-output HPS or MH lamp is fitted, 600W for standard flowering, or boost when the lamp and reflector are rated for overdriven output. Mount it clear of standing water and allow airflow around the heatsink fins so it can shed heat during long lighting cycles.
