Description
HPS colour correction for growers who wear glasses
The Method Seven HPS Clip-On is made for growers who wear prescription glasses. Instead of squeezing a pair of grow glasses over your own frames, it clips straight onto them and adds Method Seven's HPS colour-balancing lens, made by Carl Zeiss Vision, which corrects the heavy orange-yellow light of high pressure sodium lamps to natural colour and protects against UV. It comes in two shapes: the Classic, for smaller or less shaped frames, and the larger Aviator, for bigger glasses.
Spring-loaded, rubber-coated metal clips hold gently onto your frames, and the hinged bracket lets the lenses flip up when you want an unfiltered view for a moment, then drop back into place when you return to the canopy. Both shapes use the same rimless lenses with Method Seven's blue mirror finish, weigh very little and slip into a pocket when you leave the room.
Key Benefits
- Works with your own glasses – no need for prescription grow glasses
- Natural colour under HPS – leaf colour, pests and deficiencies show as they really are
- Carl Zeiss Vision lens with UV protection and less eye strain under intense lamps
- Rubber-coated spring clips – a secure grip that is gentle on your frames
- Flip-up bracket – lenses lift clear without taking anything off
- Two shapes – Classic for smaller frames, Aviator for larger glasses
Grow Glasses and Prescription Lenses Don't Mix
Standard grow glasses do not sit over most prescription frames, so many glasses wearers work under HPS with no colour correction at all. That means eye strain, afterimages and a distorted view in which pale new growth, an early deficiency or pest damage are easy to miss. A clip-on solves it simply, at a fraction of the cost of prescription grow glasses.
How to Use
- Pick the shape that covers your lenses: Classic for smaller or less shaped frames, Aviator for larger glasses.
- Clip it onto the bridge of your glasses and centre the lenses over your own.
- Flip the lenses up for a quick unfiltered look; flip them down when you are working under the lamps.
- Made for HPS only: for LED rooms, Method Seven make LED and FX clip-ons.
- Take it off before cleaning your glasses and wipe the clip-on lenses with a soft microfibre cloth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which shape should I choose?
Pick the shape whose lenses fully cover your own. The Classic suits smaller or less shaped frames; the Aviator has larger lenses for bigger glasses, including aviator-style frames. Both use the same HPS lens and clip.
Will it fit my glasses?
The spring clips grip the bridge of most prescription glasses. Very large or deeply wrapped frames may not be fully covered, so check the size of your lenses against the shape you choose.
Will the clips mark my frames?
The metal clips are rubber-coated, so they hold firmly without scratching your glasses.
Can I use it under LED grow lights?
No. The HPS lens is tuned for high pressure sodium. Method Seven make LED and FX clip-ons for LED rooms.
