The Method Seven Evolution HPSx Transition combines Method Seven's HPSx colour-balancing lens with a photochromic transition layer. In the grow room it corrects the orange-yellow light of high pressure sodium lamps so you see natural colour. Step out into direct sunlight and the lens darkens from its blue HPS tint to a dark grey sunglass tint within a few minutes. For anyone who moves between a lit grow room, a greenhouse or polytunnel and the outdoors during the day, one pair does both jobs.
The Evolution frame is Italian-made in matte black TR-90, with concealed flex hinges and a flatter Base 6 front that looks like an everyday pair of sunglasses. It fits average to large faces.

Hours under HPS mean working in light that hides true leaf colour and leaves the eyes strained, so nutrient deficiencies, pest damage and mould are easy to miss until they have spread. How to Use
- Under HPS: wear them whenever the lamps are on and you are working in the room.
- Outdoors: the lens reacts to direct sunlight on its own – allow a few minutes for it to darken fully.
- Back indoors: give the lens a little time to return to its blue HPS tint before close inspection work.
- Not for LED rooms: under full-spectrum white or blurple LEDs, choose a Method Seven FX or LED lens.
- Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and keep them away from lamp heat.
