Description
Full-wrap cover and a glass HPS lens for the brightest rooms
The Method Seven Resistance 2 HPS+ is the updated version of Method Seven's award-winning Resistance frame, with fuller wrap-around coverage and a premium mineral glass HPS lens. It turns the heavy yellow-orange light of high pressure sodium lamps back to balanced, natural colour, gives full UV protection, and carries a silver mirror coating for the intensity of double-ended HPS bulbs. Method Seven now list this frame and lens as the Resistance 2 HPS Crystal.
The frame is TR-90 thermoplastic with a Base 8 wrap, 62 mm lenses and a 15 mm bridge, and fits average to large faces. It is built for professional growers who spend hours at a time in grow tents and lit rooms and want the sides covered against stray light.
Key Benefits
- Balanced, natural colour under HPS – see leaf colour, pests and disease as they really are
- Mineral glass lens – exceptional clarity, scratch-resistant, easy to clean and never hazy
- Full UV protection under high-intensity lighting
- Silver coating for DE HPS – takes the edge off double-ended fixtures
- Full-wrap Resistance 2 frame – cuts stray light from the sides
- Fits average to large faces
Why Do HPS Rooms Make Plant Problems Hard to See?
High pressure sodium output is concentrated in the yellow-orange part of the spectrum. Under it, green leaves look olive, pale new growth looks normal, and the first signs of a deficiency, mite damage or mildew blend into the background. Double-ended lamps add a level of brightness that leaves eyes strained and seeing afterimages after a long session. Tinted sunglasses only dim the scene; a colour-balancing lens corrects it, so problems are caught early and the work is easier on the eyes.
How to Use
- Wear them whenever the HPS lamps are on and you are working in or near the canopy.
- Made for HPS, including double-ended fixtures. For LED rooms, choose a Method Seven FX or LED lens instead.
- Clean with a soft microfibre cloth; the glass lens resists scratching and does not haze.
- Keep them away from lamp heat when they are off your face.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Resistance and the Resistance 2?
The Resistance 2 is Method Seven's updated frame with fuller wrap-around coverage, sized for average to large faces. The original Resistance suits average-size faces. Both use a mineral glass HPS lens with a silver coating.
Is this the same as the Resistance 2 HPS Crystal?
Yes. HPS Crystal is Method Seven's current name for the mineral glass HPS lens with the silver coating in this frame; UK distributors, including our supplier, still list it as the Resistance 2 HPS+.
Will they work under LED grow lights?
No. The lens is tuned for high pressure sodium. Under full-spectrum white or blurple LEDs, choose one of Method Seven's FX or LED lenses.
Do they fit over prescription glasses?
No - it is a full-wrap frame worn on its own. Method Seven make clip-on HPS lenses for growers who wear prescription glasses.
