Mills CalMag is a concentrated calcium and magnesium supplement formulated to prevent and correct the deficiencies that commonly appear in hydroponics, coco and soil. It supplies readily available calcium, magnesium and nitrogen to support root development, improve nutrient uptake and strengthen growth through both vegetative growth and bloom - especially valuable on reverse osmosis (RO) water, soft water or coco coir, where natural cal-mag levels fall short.

How to Use

  • Shake well before use.
  • All media (hydro, coco, soil): 0 to 0.77ml per litre added before base nutrients, then mix thoroughly. Mills dose CalMag as a water correction, not a fixed rate - the softer your water, the more you need.
  • How much: Mills' target is an EC of 0.7 before nutrients go in. On zero-EC RO water that takes the full 0.77ml per litre; as your base EC rises toward 0.7 the amount falls to none at all.
  • When to use: throughout veg and bloom, particularly on coco, RO or soft water.
  • pH and EC: check after mixing (around pH 6.5 for prevention) and adjust as needed.
  • Do not exceed the rate unless treating a confirmed deficiency.

Note — Mills publish CalMag as a correction table, not a feed rate: “our target EC prior to mixing nutrient is 0.7.” The two rows above are the endpoints of that table — in between, Mills print steps of 0.66, 0.55, 0.44, 0.33, 0.22 and 0.11 ml per litre as your base EC rises. 0.77 ml/L is Mills' maximum; do not exceed it. Mills also advise: “If you are in a soft water area (0.1 – 0.4) then we advise you increase your base EC to 0.7 and then add the nutrients and additives as per feed chart.” Note this one table is per litre while the rest of the Mills chart is per 10 litres. Check pH and EC after mixing.
