Description
Silenced EC Extraction and Carbon Filtration, Matched in One Kit
The Mountain Air EC Air Kit brings together everything needed for quiet, odour-free extraction from a grow tent or grow room: a Mountain Air EC Whisper silenced inline fan, a matched Mountain Air carbon filter, 10m of RAM Combi-Duct lightproof ducting, quick-release clamps and a UK-plug power lead. The fan's insulated housing keeps it near-silent even at full speed, its EC motor gives stepless speed control from the supplied dial, and a dual impeller with a turbine-style inlet holds pressure through the filter and a long duct run. Each kit is built around one duct diameter, so there are no reducers or adaptors to find.
What's Included
- Mountain Air EC Whisper Fan – silenced EC inline fan with hanging points and its dial speed controller (150mm in the 0620 kit, 200mm in the 0840 kit, 250mm in the 1030 and 1040 kits, 315mm in the 1240L kit)
- Mountain Air Carbon Filter – the 0620, 0840, 1030, 1040 or 1240L filter named in the kit
- RAM Combi-Duct Lightproof Ducting – 10m, in 152mm, 203mm, 254mm or 315mm to suit the fan
- Quick-Release Clamps – 60–215mm in the 150mm and 200mm kits, 60–325mm in the 250mm and 315mm kits
- UK Plug to IEC Power Lead – 2m
Key Benefits
- Near-silent running – the insulated EC Whisper housing keeps noise down; the 150mm fan is rated at just 37 dBA and the 250mm at 40.5 dBA at full speed.
- Efficient EC motor – the 150mm fan draws only 45W at its 594 m³/h maximum and the 250mm 135W at 1808 m³/h, and each uses only what it needs at lower speeds.
- Built for filter resistance – dual impeller and turbine-style inlet, with up to 472 Pa static pressure on the 150mm fan and 494 Pa on the 250mm.
- Filter matched to the fan – 575 m³/h behind the 594 m³/h 150mm fan, 1615 m³/h behind the 1205 m³/h 200mm fan, 1870 or 2380 m³/h behind the 1808 m³/h 250mm fan and 3500 m³/h behind the 2987 m³/h 315mm fan.
- Lightproof, quieter ducting – RAM Combi-Duct has four laminated layers on a steel wire helix, a black PVC outer and a clear inner layer that softens foil noise.
- Ready for thermostatic control – add the Mountain Air Environmental Controller to run the fan by temperature instead of the dial.
Is Heat, Humidity or Odour Getting Out of Hand?
Grow lights, transpiring plants and warm weather push up temperature and humidity in a closed tent or room, and stale, damp air slows growth and gives mould a foothold. A fan powerful enough to fix it is often loud, and without carbon filtration the exhaust carries every smell out with it. This kit deals with all three at once: steady airflow to clear heat and moisture, a fan quiet enough to run day and night, and an activated carbon filter scrubbing odour before the air leaves the room.
How to Use
- Hang the filter high: warm air gathers near the roof, so fit the filter in the top of the tent or room, or stand it on a filter stand.
- Duct filter to fan: run Combi-Duct from the filter flange to the fan inlet, following the airflow arrow on the fan, and clamp both joints.
- Exhaust the air: duct the fan outlet out of the room, keeping the run as short and straight as practical.
- Power up: hang the fan from its hanging points, connect the IEC lead and plug into a UK socket.
- Set the speed: turn the dial until the room holds your target temperature and humidity, or fit the Environmental Controller to adjust speed automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the two 250mm kits?
Both use the 250mm EC Whisper fan (1808 m³/h). The 1030 kit pairs it with the 800mm filter rated 1870 m³/h; the 1040 kit uses the 1000mm filter rated 2380 m³/h, which carries more carbon and gives more airflow headroom for a larger room or a heavier odour load.
Which kit size do I need?
Work out the volume of the tent or room in cubic metres (length × width × height). Most growers aim to change all of the air about once a minute, so multiply the volume by 60 for the m³/h you need, then allow extra for the carbon filter, the duct run and hot lights. As a guide, the 150mm kit (594 m³/h) suits small and medium tents, the 200mm kit (1205 m³/h) larger tents, and the 250mm and 315mm kits grow rooms and multi-light set-ups.
Can the fan be controlled by temperature?
Yes. The Mountain Air Environmental Controller (sold separately) plugs into the fan's control port in place of the dial. It offers manual speed from 20 to 100%, or automatic modes that slow the fan or switch it off when the room drops below your set point (18–32°C), read by a probe on a 4m lead.
Is it ready for UK sockets?
Yes. Every kit includes a 2m UK plug to IEC lead for the fan.
How quiet is it?
The 250mm EC Whisper is rated at 40.5 dBA at full speed and the 150mm in the 0620 kit at just 37 dBA, thanks to the insulated housing, and both run quieter still when turned down on the dial.
