Description

Automated drip feeding for four bigger plants on a 75 x 75 cm tray

The Nutriculture Origin Large is the system growers knew as the Wilma Large 4: four pots on a 75 x 75 cm support tray over a 50-litre nutrient tank, fed by a NEWA Maxi 500 submersible pump and a dripper in every pot. Set a timer and the pump drips solution into the top of each pot several times a day; run-off works down through the medium, over the roots and back into the tank, pulling air into the root zone behind it. That steady, little-and-often supply stops the cycle of drought and saturation that comes with hand watering, which is what stalls root development and leaves nutrient uptake uneven. With the extra tank volume and bigger pots it suits larger plants and longer crops, in clay pebbles, coco, soil or rockwool, and every pot can be lifted out, turned or swapped on its own.

Choose Your Pot Size

  • 4 x 11L Pots: a good all-round root volume for most fruiting and leafy crops.
  • 4 x 18L Pots: the most root room on this tray, for big, long-season plants that drink heavily.

What's Included

  • 50-litre nutrient tank
  • Origin Large 4 support tray, 75 x 75 cm
  • 4 pots in your chosen size
  • NEWA Maxi 500 submersible pump
  • Delivery tube with a nutrient mixing tap
  • 4 dripper tubes, 4 black arrow drippers and 4 blue flood drippers

Key Benefits

  • 50-litre tank for four plants, so the solution stays stable and needs topping up less often
  • Timed little-and-often feeds that keep the root zone moist and oxygenated rather than waterlogged
  • A dripper for every medium: blue flood drippers (about 40 L/h) for clay pebbles, black arrow drippers (2 L/h) for coco and soil, both in the box
  • Nutrient mixing tap on the delivery tube: open it and run the pump for 5 minutes after every solution change
  • Independent pots that sit in sized slots, so one plant can be moved or replaced without upsetting the rest
  • UK-made by Nutriculture, mostly from recycled plastic, with every unit hand-finished and inspected

How to Use

  • Position: stand the tank level on a floor or bench that can carry it when full, then sit the support tray on top.
  • Pump: fit the stand, sucker, strainer and foam filter to the pump, place it on the tank floor and shake it to clear air bubbles before connecting the delivery tube, with the mixing tap opposite the tank access point.
  • Drippers: warm the dripper tube in warm water to push it onto the fittings. Use the blue flood drippers for clay pebbles, rockwool cubes and PU foam, and the black arrow drippers for coco, soil and Copito.
  • Mix: fill the tank, add nutrients at the label rate, open the tap and run the pump for 5 minutes, then check EC and pH against your nutrient maker's guidance.
  • Timer: use a 15-minute segmental timer (not included). Nutriculture's guide starts coco and soil on 1 feed a day and pebbles or mixed media on 2, rising to 2-4 feeds a day in vegetative growth and 3-6 in flowering, with pebbles at the top of each range and no more than one feed an hour. Start young plants at about half strength.
  • Maintain: change the solution completely every 14-21 days, check the drippers from time to time, and between crops clean the system through with a weak acid solution or a system cleaner before rinsing it with clean water.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size grow tent does the Origin Large need?

The tray is 75 x 75 cm. It fits an 80 x 80 cm tent with a little room either side; a 90 x 90 cm or 1.2 x 1.2 m tent makes it easier to reach the mixing tap and the drippers. Measure the inside of the tent floor first.

11L or 18L pots - which should I pick?

Both share the same tray, 50-litre tank, pump and delivery system. 11 L pots suit most crops; 18 L pots give large, long-season plants more root room and hold more moisture between feeds.

How is the Origin Large different from the Origin Small?

The Large uses a bigger 75 x 75 cm tray and a 50-litre tank (the Small is 60 x 60 cm with 30 litres) and takes larger pots, so it suits bigger plants and needs topping up less often.

Is this the Wilma Large 4?

Yes. Nutriculture renamed the Wilma range Origin, and the Origin Large is the former Wilma Large 4.
