Description
Eight large pots in a long, narrow footprint, fed automatically from one tank
The Nutriculture Origin XL Wide is a complete recirculating drip irrigation system for eight plants in large 18-litre or 25-litre pots. The pots stand in two rows of four in moulded slots along a 190 x 90 cm tray, the tray sits over a 180-litre nutrient tank, and a submersible pump on a timer drips solution into each pot. What the medium does not hold drains back to the tank, pulling fresh air down through the root zone on its way, ready to be fed again at the next cycle. That little-and-often rhythm keeps moisture and nutrient uptake steady, so you avoid the waterlogged, oxygen-starved roots and uneven growth that come from watering by hand. The long shape suits a rectangular grow tent or a bench along a wall, and it works with clay pebbles, coco, soil or rockwool.
Choose Your Pot Size
- 8 x 18L Pots: plenty of root room for eight medium to large plants.
- 8 x 25L Pots: the largest pots in the Origin range, for eight big plants grown on for longer.
What's Included
- 180-litre tank
- XL Wide top tray, 190 x 90 cm, with eight pot slots
- Eight pots in the size you choose
- Submersible pump
- Delivery system: distribution pipe with a nutrient mixing tap, drip lines, blue flood drippers and black arrow drippers
Key Benefits
- Automatic, timed feeding of all eight pots from a single 180-litre reservoir, topped up every couple of days instead of watering by hand
- Large 18 L or 25 L pots for strong root development on bigger plants
- Any medium: blue flood drippers (about 40 L/h) for clay pebbles, black arrow drippers (2 L/h) for coco, soil and rockwool
- Independent pots that lift out, so a plant can be moved under the light or replaced on its own
- Leak-resistant build: pots seat firmly in sized slots and the tray drains straight into the tank below
- Mixing tap on the delivery pipe to stir the tank with the pump after every nutrient change
How to Use
- Position: place the tank where it will stay, sit the tray over it and seat the eight pots; fit the pump and delivery system from the instructions.
- Choose drippers: blue flood drippers for clay pebbles, running the system as recirculating; black arrow drippers for coco, soil or rockwool, keeping run-off low.
- Mix the tank: add water and nutrients, open the mixing tap and run the pump for a couple of minutes, then check EC and bring the solution to a pH of 5.5-6.2.
- Set the timer: connect the pump to an irrigation timer (not included); begin with 2 or 3 short feeds a day during the lights-on period for young plants and increase the number of feeds as they grow, more often for clay pebbles than for coco or soil.
- Prevent blockages: add a drip-line cleaner such as House & Garden Drip Clean from the first fill.
- Keep it topped up: top up every couple of days and change the solution in line with your nutrient maker's guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size grow tent does the Origin XL Wide fit?
The tray is 190 x 90 cm. A 240 x 120 cm tent leaves about 25 cm at each end and 15 cm at each side for reaching the tap and drippers; a 200 x 100 cm tent is a very tight fit, so measure the inside of the floor first.
Should I choose the 18L or the 25L pots?
Both sit on the same 190 x 90 cm footprint over the same 180-litre tank. The 25-litre pots hold more medium, which buffers bigger plants between feeds and suits longer-season crops; the 18-litre pots use less medium and suit medium-sized plants.
Is this the old Wilma XL Wide?
Yes. Nutriculture renamed the Wilma range Origin, and the XL Wide 8 is the same eight-pot, tray-over-tank drip system.
What else do I need?
A timer to switch the pump, your growing medium and nutrients, and a pH and EC meter for the tank.
