Description

Run Every HID Light In The Room From One Timer

The Omega Widow Timer & Relay Contactor sits between the mains and your ballasts, giving a single agricultural-grade 24-hour timer the muscle to switch multiple HID lighting circuits without ever passing the full lamp current through its own contacts. Built from powder-coated steel with 13A switched sockets, a rubber-moulded inlet plug and a fold-out hanging bracket, it is assembled in the UK from components trusted across commercial grow rooms for years.

Key Benefits

  • Protects your timer — the relay carries the switching load, so the timer dial only ever triggers a low-current relay coil, not the lamp itself
  • 13A switched sockets on every way, wired live so ballasts fire together on the same schedule
  • Steel enclosure keeps the wiring and timer mechanism protected in a working grow room
  • Rubber-moulded mains plug for a secure, vibration-resistant connection
  • Fold-out hanging bracket mounts the unit off the floor, clear of spills and foot traffic
  • 2, 4, 6 and 8-way builds to match a single light up to a full multi-light array

Why Not Just Wire A Timer Straight To The Ballast?

A domestic timer's contacts are only rated for a fraction of the inrush current an HID ballast draws at switch-on, and repeated arcing at those contacts is a common cause of a timer failing mid-cycle, throwing the room into the wrong photoperiod. The Widow's relay takes that load instead, so the timer itself only ever switches a small coil — it lasts, and the schedule holds.

How to Use

Plug ballasts into the switched sockets, connect the Widow to the mains via its own moulded plug, and set the 24-hour dial to the photoperiod required. All sockets on one unit share the same schedule, so use one Widow per lighting circuit that needs its own on/off time — a flowering room and a veg room, for example, each run from their own unit.
