Flip Faster, Stretch Less, Keep Females Female
Optic Foliar Switch works through two mechanisms: a faster transition into flower, and keeping female flowers female through the whole bloom. It does this by triggering ethylene production, which stabilises flowering and reduces the plant stress that causes hermaphroditism. Like the rest of the Optic Foliar range it can be sprayed with the lights on.
Key Benefits
- Reduces flowering time by around a week by bringing the onset of flower forward
- Less stretch and tighter nodes when used across the flip, with more flowering sites formed
- Triggers ethylene production to stabilise flowering and cut stress-driven herming
- Suppresses further nanner development if caught early enough
- No loss in growth, quality or yield – it redirects timing rather than costing you bulk
- Non-toxic and non-carcinogenic, and safe to apply with the lights on
Excessive Stretch and Stress-Induced Herming
A slow, stretchy flip wastes two weeks of canopy space and leaves airy buds down the stem where light never reaches. Environmental stress at the same moment is what flips plants into throwing nanners, and once pollen is in the room the crop is compromised. Switch tightens the transition and stabilises sex expression through it. Be realistic about the limits: it will not remove existing male flowers or seeds – you still need to pluck any nanners or sacs by hand – and it cannot reverse full-blown hermaphroditism once male and female flowers are spread across the plant.
How to Use
- Standard programme: spray through the last week of veg and the first two weeks of flower
- Best window: day 0-7 of flower gives the strongest response
- Corrective use: at the first sign of nanners apply immediately, then a second spray 7-10 days later
- Aftercare: inspect daily and remove any nanners you find, and cull the worst-affected plants in a tightly controlled room
- Pair with Overgrow through early growth and into flower to maximise yield
- Lighting: apply with the lights on, no dark period needed
