The OptiClimate PRO3 Split is the air-cooled version of OptiClimate's all-in-one grow room climate unit. It cools, heats, dehumidifies, filters and circulates the air of a sealed room at the same time, and unlike the water-cooled PRO3 it needs no water supply: a compact outdoor condenser rejects the waste heat outside, joined to the indoor unit by two pre-charged quick-couple hoses. The compressor, evaporator, ceramic heaters and carbon filter all stay in the indoor unit. Three sizes cover rooms from about 6 x 600W to 24 x 600W of HPS lighting.

Sizing a sealed room that runs hot

The rule of thumb is cooling watts to match lighting watts. The 3500 is sold against six 600W or four 1000W lamps, the 10000 against sixteen 600W or ten 1000W, and the 15000 against twenty-four 600W or fifteen 1000W. Under-sizing shows up as a room that creeps past target every afternoon and high humidity at lights-off; over-sizing short-cycles the compressor. The optional Dual Room kit lets one PRO3 serve two rooms.

How to Use

• Site the indoor unit with at least 15cm clearance behind and above it for the filter and air inlet, on the rubber feet supplied, at canopy height with one flange, or low or outside the room with a plenum box and two flanges (accessories).
• Site the outdoor condenser within 15m of the indoor unit on the standard 8m hoses; 15m hoses are made to order. Beyond 15m you need the PRO3 Split EX model, not longer hoses.
• Connect the two pre-charged hoses hand-tight then spanner-tight. Never shorten, extend or kink a hose - a kink means a total loss of charge.
• Run the five-core cable supplied from the indoor unit to power the outdoor fans and carry the sensor signal, and fit a condensate drain (a lift pump is available where there is no gravity drain).
• Power: the 3500 and 10000 run single or three-phase on a suitable D-curve MCB; the 15000 is 400V three-phase only. Have the supply installed by an electrician.
• Set the target temperature and humidity on the controller; the hygrostat's light cell handles the day and night switch.
