The hose that decides where your outdoor unit can actually go

This is the refrigerant cooling hose set for OptiClimate PRO3, PRO3S and PRO4 Split and Split EX units. It is supplied as a set of two hoses - a wider one carrying vapour back to the indoor unit and a narrower one carrying liquid - with quick-connect couplings already fitted and the line pre-charged. Hose diameter changes with the size of the machine, so order the set that matches your unit.

The outdoor unit will not reach

Split installs fail on distance more often than anything else. The unit ships with a fixed length of hose, and if the only wall you can hang a condenser on is further away than that, the install stops. Extra hose is the fix - and it is worth measuring the real route, round corners and up walls, rather than the straight line between the two.

How to Use

• Check what you already have: a standard Split comes with 8 metres, a Split EX with 15 metres
• Maximum total run: 30 metres between indoor and outdoor unit
• Match the set to the unit: the 15000 hose will not fit a 3500 and vice versa
• Support the hose: it must be clipped along its route and never left hanging off the connections at either end
• Do not cut or lengthen the hose - it is pre-charged and the couplings are part of the seal
• Tighten with spanners at both the indoor and outdoor unit, following the manual
• Installation: the refrigerant side is F-Gas qualified engineer work
