Description

Brings mains pressure down to what the unit is rated for

The OptiClimate pressure reducing valve drops incoming mains water pressure to a set, stable level and shows it on an integrated pressure gauge. Water-cooled climate units are rated to a working pressure, and UK mains frequently sits above it - particularly overnight when demand falls away.

Key Benefits

  • Protects the heat exchanger - over-pressure is a slow way to shorten the life of a water circuit
  • Gauge included - you can see the delivered pressure instead of assuming it
  • Adjustable set point - dial it to the unit's rated pressure and leave it
  • Smooths overnight spikes - mains pressure climbs when the neighbourhood stops drawing

Mains pressure that is fine by day and too high at night

Pressure on a UK mains supply is not constant. It rises overnight and it varies by street. A circuit that reads acceptable when you commission it at four in the afternoon can be well over the rating at three in the morning, and the failure that follows looks random.

How to Use

  • Where it goes: on the incoming mains supply, before the solenoid valve and the unit
  • Setting up: adjust to the climate unit's rated working pressure and confirm on the gauge
  • Check: read the gauge at night as well as during the day
  • Orientation: fit to the flow arrow on the body

Technical Specifications

  • Type: Pressure reducing valve with integrated gauge
  • Application: Water-cooled OptiClimate installations
  • Position: Incoming mains, upstream of the unit
  • Adjustment: Set to the unit's rated working pressure
