Description

Professional Odour Control Built on RC-48 Australian Carbon

Phresh Professional Carbon Filters scrub extracted air clean of dust, particulates, organic compounds and odours, using premium RC-48 Australian activated carbon. Built to professional grade for serious hobby and commercial grow rooms, they deliver total air-stream filtration with far less weight than typical steel-bodied filters.

Key Benefits

  • RC-48 Australian carbon with a guaranteed 1050 mg/g iodine number, roughly double a typical coal carbon's absorption
  • Lightweight aluminium tops and bases, around half the weight of competing filters and easier to hang
  • Sealed and labelled at manufacture, bagged and boxed straight off the line to protect carbon life
  • Long service life, built to last around twice as long as many other brands
  • Trusted in demanding settings — research labs, plant breeding, tissue culture and commercial greenhouses

How long should a carbon filter really last?

There is no fixed lifespan for RC-48 carbon — it depends on how much airborne impurity the bed absorbs, plus airflow rate and climate. As a guide a Phresh filter lasts a typical user around two years. Its guaranteed 1050 mg/g iodine number (a direct measure of absorption capacity) sits well above the ~500 mg/g of average coal-based carbon, which is why these filters keep scrubbing odour long after cheaper carbon has saturated.

How to Use

  • Fit the filter inline before your extraction fan so air is drawn through the carbon bed before exhausting.
  • Match your fan's airflow to the filter's rated capacity for the best odour control and longest carbon life.
  • Support the filter properly rather than letting it hang from ducting alone.
  • Fit a pre-filter sleeve and keep it clean to extend carbon life.

Questions & answers

Which size Phresh filter do I need?

Match the filter's rating to your fan: from 340 m3/h on the 100mm x 300mm up to 3,910 m3/h on the 315mm x 1200mm. Running within that rating gives the best odour control and longest carbon life.

How long does the carbon last?

There's no fixed lifespan; it depends on how much the carbon absorbs, the airflow and your climate. As a guide, a typical user gets around two years.

Is a pre-filter included?

Yes. Keep it clean, and machine-wash or replace it at about six months to extend carbon life.

Where does it go in the system?

Fit it before the extractor fan so air is drawn through the carbon bed before it's exhausted. Support the filter properly rather than hanging it from ducting alone.

What carbon does it use?

RC-48 Australian activated carbon, in a filter with aluminium tops and bases that weighs around half as much as comparable filters, so it's easier to hang.
