The PowerPlant Mantis Reflector is an adjustable HPS grow light reflector whose wings lock at five different angles, so you can tighten the light footprint over a small canopy or open it out to cover a wider area. The wings form dual parabolic shapes and the reflective surface is V53 material quoted by the maker at up to 96% reflectivity. Two versions are available: SE, with an E40 holder for single-ended HPS lamps up to 600W, and DE, with K12x30s holders for double-ended HPS lamps up to 1000W.

Hot Spots and Uneven Coverage

A fixed hood can leave an intense centre with weak edges, giving uneven growth and stretching plants at the margins. Adjustable wings let you match the footprint to the canopy as it moves from vegetative growth into flowering, while the open frame keeps heat moving away from the lamp.

How to Use

• Pick the version for your lamp: SE for single-ended E40 HPS lamps up to 600W, DE for double-ended HPS lamps up to 1000W
• Assemble the reflector by hand – no tools are needed
• Hang it level over the canopy and fit the lamp; lamp and ballast are sold separately
• Set the wings: a steeper angle concentrates light over a smaller area, a flatter angle widens the footprint
• Re-check hanging height and wing angle as plants grow
