Split or merge a duct run without losing airflow
A pressed T-piece is the fitting you reach for when two lengths of ducting need to feed into a single outlet, or one run needs to be split across two points. It is pressed from galvanised steel, so it holds its shape under a fan's negative pressure and will not sag, crush or tear the way flexible ducting can. All three connections share the same diameter, which keeps the fitting simple to plan around. Sizes run from 4" up to 14", covering everything from a small tent extract to a multi-room ventilation setup.
Key Benefits
- Galvanised steel construction - rigid, corrosion resistant and built to stay in service for years.
- Three matched connections - same diameter on every leg, so no adapters or reducers to source.
- Seven sizes - 4", 5", 6", 8", 10", 12" and 14" to suit any fan and filter combination.
- Smooth pressed form - a clean internal profile keeps turbulence and pressure loss down.
- Neat, permanent joins - clamps and tape seal straight onto the spigots for a tidy, quiet run.
Where Rigid Ducting Runs Go Wrong
Most ventilation systems lose their performance at the joins. A flexible duct folded into a rough tee kinks, restricts and whistles, and the fan works harder to move less air. Using a properly formed pressed fitting at the branch keeps the internal bore open and the airflow predictable, so the extraction rate you calculated on paper is closer to the one you actually get in the room.
How to Use
- Match the T-piece size to the outside diameter of your existing ducting.
- Slide the ducting over each spigot and secure with a jubilee or worm drive clamp.
- Seal every join with aluminium duct tape to stop leaks and noise.
- Support the fitting with hangers so its weight is not carried by the ducting.
- Keep branch runs as short and straight as possible to preserve airflow.
