Pyrethrum 5EC is a pyrethrin-based contact insecticide (pyrethrins 50 g/L, emulsifiable concentrate) for professional growers. It is authorised for tomatoes, peppers and chillies, aubergines, courgettes and summer squash, and cucumbers grown under permanent protection with full enclosure only. Aphids building up on protected crops?
Aphids breed fast once they are established under cover, weakening plants and spreading through the crop. Applied as a thorough contact spray over both leaf surfaces, Pyrethrum 5EC knocks the population back. It only works on the pests it touches, so coverage is everything.
How to Use
- Maximum dose: 650ml per hectare, in 275-600 litres of water per hectare
- Treatments: up to 3 per crop, at least 7 days apart
- Harvest interval: 24 hours after the last application
- Coverage: spray thoroughly, covering upper and lower leaf surfaces
- Close vents and doors during and after spraying until the spray has settled
- Keep honey bees off treated crops: remove or cover hives during application and for 24 hours afterwards
