Description
Heavy-duty odour control for 10" and 12" extraction
The RAM AirTECH HEAVY Carbon Filter is built for large grow rooms running big 10" and 12" fans. Each filter holds a 60mm-deep bed of premium Australian activated carbon, machine-packed for superior compaction and kept tight by an Acoustafoam expanding compaction ring. Five sizes are rated from 2000 m³/h to 4250 m³/h, all in a rugged Zintec zinc-coated steel body.
Key Benefits
- Serious airflow – up to 4250 m³/h through the 315/1200, enough for the largest single-fan rooms.
- 60mm carbon bed – a deep bed gives the air longer contact with the carbon, so malodorous volatiles are captured even at high flow.
- Acoustafoam compaction ring – expands to take up settling, so channels never open through the carbon.
- All-Zintec construction – concentric perforated mesh cylinders (55% open area) and Zintec end caps for real strength.
- Machine-washable pre-filter – held by silicone bands to keep dust off the carbon and extend its life.
- Three lengths – 660mm, 1000mm or 1200mm bodies let you match the filter to the fan and the space.
Keeping a Large Grow Room Discreet
A big extraction fan moves thousands of cubic metres of air an hour, and a filter running near its limit lets smell through while throttling the fan. The result is rising temperature and humidity, stale air around the canopy and a fan working hard against back-pressure. A HEAVY filter rated comfortably above your fan's real output keeps odours locked in while the air keeps moving, which is what steady vegetative growth and flowering depend on.
How to Use
- Size it to the fan: choose a filter rated about 20% above the fan's free-air flow — ducting and the filter reduce real airflow, and a filter working below its rating lasts longer.
- Match the diameters: run filter, fan and ducting at one size where you can; if they differ, go slightly larger on the filter, not the fan.
- Mount it securely: these are substantial filters — hang them from strong supports or stand them upright on a filter stand, then duct to the fan inlet with clamps.
- Maintain the pre-filter: machine-wash the sleeve when it looks dusty and refit once dry.
