RAM AirTECH MIDI Carbon Filter – Inline Charcoal Filter

A long carbon bed on a 6" or 8" duct

The RAM AirTECH MIDI Carbon Filter puts a full 660mm-long filter on a 150mm or 200mm neck, giving mid-sized grow rooms and larger grow tents far more carbon than a short filter of the same diameter. A 50mm bed of premium Australian activated carbon is machine-packed and held tight by an Acoustafoam compaction ring, and the two sizes are rated to 1150 m³/h and 1350 m³/h.

Is Your Filter Holding Your Fan Back?

A short filter on a powerful fan is one of the commonest causes of poor extraction: back-pressure cuts the real airflow, so heat and humidity climb and odour slips through a bed that is working flat out. Choosing a filter rated well above the fan's real flow keeps air moving through the grow room and gives the carbon time to do its job, which helps keep conditions steady for healthy plant growth.

How to Use

• Size it to the fan: choose a filter rated around 20% above the fan's free-air flow; filters work better and last longer below their rated airflow.
• Match the diameters: ideally filter, fan and ducting share one size; if not, use a filter slightly larger than the fan rather than smaller.
• Fit it: hang it horizontally or stand it upright on a filter stand, and duct it to the fan inlet with clamps.
• Look after it: machine-wash the pre-filter sleeve when dusty and refit it once dry.
