RAW Nitrogen is a 20-0-0 straight nitrogen supplement, free of both nitrates and urea — the two nitrogen forms most likely to cause salt build-up or ammonia toxicity when overused. That makes it safe to apply at any stage of plant development rather than being restricted to early vegetative growth the way some nitrogen boosters are. All of its nitrogen is ammoniacal, derived from ammonium sulfate, and it dissolves instantly — into the reservoir, the watering can or a foliar spray.

Pale, slow vegetative growth
Nitrogen is the growth element. When it runs short the plant moves it out of the older leaves to feed new shoots, so the lower leaves turn pale and yellow and vegetative growth slows. Overdoing it brings its own trouble — soft, overly lush growth that copes less well with stress. Because RAW Nitrogen is a single, clean element, it lets you lift nitrogen on its own, without dragging phosphorus, potassium or extra nitrate up with it, and stop as soon as healthy colour returns.
How to Use
- Add to the reservoir to correct a diagnosed nitrogen deficiency, or as part of a custom-built feed
- Rate: 1/8 to 1/4 tsp per 4 L — roughly 0.15–0.31 ml of powder per litre — applied as needed
- Weekly programme: RAW's chart uses 1/8 tsp per gallon in growth week 1 and 1/4 tsp in weeks 2–4; in flowering it is used only to correct a shortfall

Why ammonium nitrogen rather than nitrate?
RAW Nitrogen contains no nitrates or urea, so RAW rates it for use through growth and bloom and as a foliar feed. Most hydroponic base nutrients already supply at least 90% of their nitrogen as nitrate, so a clean ammonium source raises nitrogen without piling on more nitrate.
How do I know my plants need more nitrogen?
Pale or yellowing older leaves and weak, slow growth are the classic signs. Check pH and EC first — a locked-out root zone can look the same — then correct with small doses.
