Description

Run intake and extraction together and keep the tent pulling in

The Rhino 2EC Fan Controller manages two Rhino Ultra EC fans – one intake, one extraction – from a single box. Alongside a temperature dial (20–30 °C) and maximum (50–100%) and minimum (off to 100%) speed settings, it has a built-in fan balancer: an off-set dial that keeps the intake running slower than the extractor so the space stays under negative pressure. Like the rest of the Rhino range it is powered by the fans it controls.

Key Benefits

  • Two fan outputs – intake and extraction controlled from one unit
  • Built-in fan balancer – the off-set dial holds intake below extraction to maintain negative pressure
  • Thermostatic speed control with a 20–30 °C set point and probe
  • Maximum speed limit cuts running costs and noise when full power is not needed
  • No external power supply – runs from the connected Rhino fans

Ballooning tents and smells escaping

When intake and extraction run at the same speed, or the intake is left too high, a tent balloons outwards and air leaks out through zips and ports untreated. Keeping the room under slight negative pressure means air only leaves through the carbon filter. The 2EC ties the two fans together so that balance holds as the temperature, and therefore the fan speed, changes through the day.

How to Use

  • Connect the intake and outtake Rhino Ultra EC fans to their marked outputs using the Rhino 0.3 m 3-pin adaptors
  • Place the temperature probe at canopy height, out of the direct path of the lights
  • Set the target temperature, then the maximum and minimum fan speeds
  • Adjust the off-set dial until the tent walls pull gently inwards – that is your negative pressure
