Thermostatic control for an AC intake and extraction pair
The Rhino AC RC-1 Fan Controller is a temperature-controlled, dual-fan controller for standard AC fans up to 300 W each. Both fans run at full speed until the room reaches the temperature you set (20–30 °C), then drop to their own minimum idle speeds, so the room keeps exchanging air without running flat out. Setting the intake idle lower than the extractor gives the underpressure (negative pressure) control printed on the front of the unit.

An AC fan on a single setting is either racing when the room is cool or struggling when the lights push the temperature up. The RC-1 brings the fans up to full speed only while the room is above target and drops them to an idle that still refreshes the air, keeping airflow and humidity steadier and cutting fan noise for most of the day.
How to Use
- Plug the intake and extraction fans into their outputs – check each fan draws no more than 300 W
- Hang the temperature probe at canopy height, out of the direct path of the lights
- Set the target temperature on the centre dial
- Set each fan's minimum speed, keeping the intake a little below the extractor so the space stays under negative pressure
