The Root!T 45 Hole Propagator Insert is a black polystyrene cell tray that drops into the Root!T large propagator tray and holds 45 plugs upright in 5 rows of 9. The cells are sized for Jiffy-7 plugs, and every cell has its own drainage hole. Supplied as a trade box for growers filling a whole bench of propagators.

Tangled Roots and Transplant Shock

Plugs packed loose in a tray lean together, dry out unevenly and knit their roots into their neighbours, so every one gets torn when you pot on. Holding each plug in its own cell keeps spacing, watering and airflow even, lets roots grow down rather than across, and means each plant lifts out whole – the easiest way to cut transplant shock and weak roots at the first move.

How to Use

• Set up: sit the insert in a Root!T large propagator tray.
• Load: soak Jiffy-7 plugs until fully expanded and press one into each cell.
• Water: water from below through the tray; each cell drains through its own hole.
• Cover: add a Root!T Propagator Lid to hold humidity for cuttings.
• Reuse: wash and sterilise between crops.
