Tall, Vented Propagator Lids for a Full Bench

The Root!T Propagator Lid is the tall clear dome from the Root!T Large Value Propagator, supplied as a trade box for nurseries and anyone replacing lids across a run of trays. Each lid is injection-moulded clear polycarbonate, stands 20cm high so taller cuttings have headroom, and has adjustable vents for humidity control.

Why Cuttings Wilt Without a Lid

A fresh cutting has no roots to replace the water its leaves lose, so in dry room air it wilts and stalls. A clear dome holds the humidity around the leaves until roots form. Leave it sealed too long, though, and stale, saturated air invites mould and damping off – which is why vents you can open a little at a time matter as much as the lid itself. Weaning plants off high humidity slowly also cuts transplant shock when they move on.

How to Use

• Fit: seat the lid on a Root!T large propagator tray over your plugs or cells.
• First days: keep the vents closed after taking cuttings to hold humidity high.
• As roots show: open the vents a little more each day, then remove the lid to harden plants off.
• Lighting: lay two Root!T 26W LED Grow Lights in the top grooves for an all-in-one set-up.
• Between crops: wash with warm soapy water or a horticultural sterilant and rinse.
