The SmartGro High-Pressure Pump is a submersible irrigation pump from Global Air Supplies' SmartGro range, built to push water and nutrient solution through a drip system with steady pressure. It comes in two sizes – 3500 litres per hour for smaller set-ups and 7000 litres per hour for large ones – and both are the pumps SmartGro supply with their T.O.P Spin Dripper irrigation kits.
The pump sits on the floor of the reservoir, water butt or bucket and draws water up from just above the base, so it keeps running until the container is almost empty. That shallow clearance means less nutrient left stranded in the bottom of the tank than with many submersible pumps. A built-in thermal protector switches it off if the motor starts to overheat, and it has been tested for use in both fresh and salt water.

How to Use
- Stand the pump upright on the base of the reservoir or water butt
- Connect the outlet to the supply line of your irrigation system – the 7000 L/h comes with a jubilee clip, the 3500 L/h with its fittings attached
- Keep the pump covered – the thermal protector stops it if it overheats, so do not leave it running in an empty tank
- Run it from a timer to set the length and frequency of each feed
