Even Light Across the Whole Canopy From One Lamp
The Sun King Parabolic Medium Reflector is an umbrella-style HPS and metal halide reflector with a vertically mounted lamp. With the lamp hanging straight down inside a dome of white panels, light is thrown out and down in a wide, even circle instead of the bright centre and dim corners you get from a flat wing. It measures 80cm across and 29cm high and suits a single lamp of up to 1000W.

Uneven Growth Under a Single Light?
A horizontal lamp in a basic reflector puts most of its intensity straight below, so the middle of the tent races ahead while plants at the edges stretch towards the light. A parabolic reflector with a vertical lamp evens that out, which means a flatter canopy, less excessive stretch at the edges and more usable light per watt. Because there is no single hot spot, you can also hang it a little closer to the plants.
How to Use
- Assemble: bolt the panels to the top plate following the supplied layout; it is already wired
- Lamp: fit an E40 HPS or MH lamp of up to 1000W and connect the IEC lead to a matching ballast
- Hang: suspend it from rope ratchets at the centre of your grow tent or room
- Height: start higher than you would a flat reflector and lower gradually, checking leaf temperature at the canopy
