Description

Conditions the root zone so the feed you give actually stays available

Terra Aquatica Humic is a concentrated humic acid extract that works on the growing medium rather than inside the plant. Humic molecules are larger than fulvic and stay in the root zone, where they hold mineral ions on exchange sites, improve structure and support the microbial life that keeps a medium healthy over a long cycle.

Key Benefits

  • Holds nutrients where roots can reach them - reduces the amount lost to run-off between feeds
  • Improves structure in soil and coco - better air-to-water balance means roots that branch instead of drowning
  • Supports beneficial microbes - gives bacteria and fungi the carbon they need to establish
  • Buffers a heavy feed - smooths the spike that follows a strong reservoir change
  • Complements fulvic - humic conditions the medium, fulvic carries minerals into the plant

Weak roots and a medium that dries out unevenly

A tired medium sheds nutrients to run-off, holds water in patches and produces weak roots that never fill the pot. Humic acid rebuilds the exchange capacity that holds a feed in place, which is why it earns its keep most in coco and in soil going through a second run.

How to Use

  • Soil: 3 ml per litre at first roots, then 4 ml per litre through first true leaves, growing and preflowering; not used in flowering
  • Hydroponics and coco: Terra Aquatica's hydro and coco charts list Fulvic in place of Humic - use Fulvic in those media
  • Reused medium: worth running from the very first feed of a second cycle, when exchange capacity is at its lowest
  • With beneficials: pairs well with a bacterial inoculant added at the same watering
  • Note: dose to the medium, not to the plant - humic works below the surface
