Description

A cold-pressed kelp extract for plants under pressure

Terra Aquatica Seaweed is an extract of Ascophyllum nodosum, the North Atlantic kelp used across commercial horticulture as a biostimulant. It is not a feed. It supplies natural cytokinins, betaines, alginates and micronutrients that help a plant hold its composure through transplanting, heat and root work.

Key Benefits

  • Reduces transplant shock - the standard use - a kelp drench at potting on gets roots moving days sooner
  • Helps through heat stress - betaines support cell water balance when the tent runs hot
  • Encourages lateral roots - natural hormones push branching rather than a single tap root
  • Safe at every stage - from cuttings through to late flower, and as a foliar spray
  • Organic input - suits an organic or a mineral programme equally

Transplant shock and a week of standing still

A plant that sulks after potting on has stopped root growth just when it should be accelerating, and that week never comes back. Heat does the same thing mid-cycle. Kelp extract shortens the recovery, which is why it belongs in the watering can on transplant day rather than in the cupboard.

How to Use

  • Transplanting: 5 ml per litre as a drench on the day, and again a week later
  • Propagation: Terra Aquatica do not list Seaweed at the first-roots stage - start it once the first true leaves are open
  • Routine use: 5 ml per litre from the first true leaves right through to flowering
  • Heat stress: 3 ml per litre as a foliar spray, lights off
  • Note: biostimulant, not a feed - it does not replace any part of the base programme

Note — Terra Aquatica do not list Seaweed at the first-roots stage; it starts at the first true leaves. They specifically suggest using it just before flowering to activate blooming. Avoid foliar sprays during flowering and keep any foliar solution below EC 0.6 mS. Measure EC after adjusting pH and after adding every nutrient and supplement. Check pH and EC after mixing.
