Trolmaster Hydro-X AC Remote Station (ARS-1)

The TrolMaster ARS-1 AC Remote Station allows growers to automate compatible mini-split air conditioners within the Hydro-X environmental control system. Temperature stability is critical in indoor growing environments, as fluctuations in a grow tent or grow room can slow vegetative growth, disrupt nutrient uptake and reduce plant performance during the flowering stage.

The ARS-1 works by learning the infrared (IR) signals from your mini-split air conditioner’s remote control. Once paired, the Hydro-X controller can automatically send these commands to the indoor AC unit, adjusting temperature settings between day and night modes based on the system’s photocell sensor. This allows growers to maintain consistent climate control without manually adjusting the air conditioner.

How It Solves Grow Problems

Maintaining stable temperatures is one of the biggest challenges in indoor growing. During lights-on periods, grow lights generate significant heat, while temperatures can drop during the dark cycle. Manually adjusting air conditioners for day and night conditions can be inconvenient and inconsistent.

The ARS-1 solves this by allowing the Hydro-X system to automatically adjust the temperature setpoints of compatible mini-split air conditioners. Using the built-in photocell sensor within the Hydro-X system, the controller detects whether the grow lights are on or off and sends the appropriate IR command to the AC unit.

This automation helps stabilise grow room temperatures throughout the grow cycle, supporting healthy root development, efficient nutrient uptake and optimal plant health. Consistent environmental control leads to stronger vegetative growth, improved flowering performance and better overall yield.

How to Use

1. Connect the ARS-1 module to the TrolMaster Hydro-X controller using the supplied RJ12 cable.

2. Position the included IR signal emitter so it faces the indoor mini-split AC unit.

3. Use the ARS-1 to learn the IR commands from the mini-split’s remote control.

4. Assign the ARS-1 address within the Hydro-X controller settings.

5. Configure the desired day and night temperature setpoints in the Hydro-X system.

6. The Hydro-X controller will automatically send IR commands to the air conditioner based on the lighting cycle.
