TrolMaster Hydro-X CO2 Sensor (MBS-S8)

The TrolMaster MBS-S8 CO₂ Sensor is designed to accurately measure CO₂ levels within indoor growing environments and integrate directly with the Hydro-X environmental control system. Monitoring CO₂ concentration in a grow tent or grow room is essential for maximising plant growth, improving nutrient uptake, and supporting stronger development during both vegetative growth and the flowering stage.

By continuously measuring CO₂ levels in parts per million (PPM), the MBS-S8 allows the Hydro-X controller to automatically regulate supplemental CO₂ equipment when used alongside the DSC-2 CO₂ device station. This ensures plants always receive the optimal CO₂ concentration required for efficient photosynthesis, stronger plant health and improved yield in hydroponics, coco or soil-based growing systems.

How It Solves Grow Problems

Many indoor growers struggle to maintain stable CO₂ levels, especially in sealed grow rooms or hydroponic systems where plants rapidly consume available carbon dioxide. When CO₂ levels drop too low, plants cannot photosynthesise efficiently, which can slow vegetative growth, weaken plant development, and reduce yields during the bloom stage.

The MBS-S8 continuously monitors CO₂ levels inside the grow space and sends this data to the Hydro-X controller. This allows the system to automatically activate CO₂ equipment through DSC-2 device modules when levels fall below the target range.

The built-in photocell also detects light cycles, ensuring CO₂ supplementation only occurs during lights-on periods when plants can actually use it. This prevents wasted CO₂ and ensures plants receive optimal conditions for healthy growth, stronger bud development, and improved overall yield.

How to Use

1. Mount the MBS-S8 sensor within the grow tent or grow room at canopy height for accurate readings.

2. Connect the sensor to the TrolMaster Hydro-X controller using the supplied RJ12 cable.

3. Use the included RJ12 T-splitter if connecting multiple modules within the system.

4. Configure CO₂ target levels within the Hydro-X controller settings.

5. Pair the sensor with one or more DSC-2 CO₂ device stations to control CO₂ regulators or generators.

6. The Hydro-X system will automatically monitor and maintain CO₂ levels based on the programmed settings.
