A Heavy-Duty EC and Temperature Probe That Fits Standard Pipework
The TrolMaster PCT-3 is a heavy-duty EC and temperature sensor for the Aqua-X, Tent-X and Green-X control systems. A slimmer protective sleeve and threaded body let it screw into a standard ¾" PVC tee, so it can sit inline in a nutrient line or drop into a reservoir, and an improved sensing element gives steadier readings. It reads 0–5 mS/cm to ±(0.05 + 2%) mS/cm and plugs into an AMP-2 or AMP-3 sensor board by its mini-DIN connector on a 3.6 m cable.

Drifting Nutrient Strength
Plant uptake, evaporation and top-ups change the strength of a feed through the day. A probe reading EC continuously in the line lets the controller log it, alarm on it and show exactly when nutrient strength drifts, rather than finding out from a hand meter after plants have been fed too strong or too weak.
How to Use
- Connect to an AMP-2 board (Aqua-X NFS-1) or an AMP-3 board (Aqua-X NFS-2 and NFS-3, Green-X GCS-1, Tent-X TCS-1)
- Inline: thread the probe into a ¾" PVC tee on the nutrient line; drop-in: hang it in the reservoir
- Calibrate from the controller with EC calibration solution, following TrolMaster's calibration guide
- Keep the tip wet at all times – a probe left to dry out can become defective

Does it work on its own?
No. It reads through a TrolMaster controller fitted with an AMP-2 or AMP-3 sensor board.
How does it differ from the PCT-1 and PCT-2?
The PCT-1 is the reservoir probe and the PCT-2 the heavy-duty in-tank probe. The PCT-3 is the newer heavy-duty probe with a slimmer, threaded body made to sit inline in a ¾" PVC tee as well as drop into a tank.
How should it be stored?
Keep the sensing tip wet at all times. TrolMaster warns that a probe allowed to dry out can become defective.
