Description

Coco Propagation Plugs With Mycorrhizae Built In

UGro Rhiza Coco Plugs are compressed discs of buffered coconut coir that swell into firm propagation plugs when soaked, ready for seeds and cuttings. Each disc is enriched with endomycorrhizae, beneficial fungi that start working with new roots straight away, so young plants leave propagation with a strong root ball and move on into coco, rockwool, soil or a hydroponic system plug and all.

Key Benefits

  • Mycorrhizae from the first root – helps young plants improve water and nutrient uptake as they establish
  • True-buffered coco – pH 5.5–6.5 and EC below 0.6 mS/cm for a clean, stable start
  • Low-fibre coir in a paper sleeve – holds water yet stays open and airy, and the thin biodegradable sleeve keeps the plug in shape when it is moved
  • Peat-free coconut coir, compact and light until soaked
  • Transplant without disturbance – the whole plug goes into the next medium, cutting transplant shock

Slow Rooting and Transplant Shock

Cuttings that sit for days without rooting, and seedlings that stall when moved, usually point to a propagation medium that is too wet, too dense or too far off in pH. A buffered coco plug drains and breathes better than a waterlogged block, and the mycorrhizae give new roots support from the outset.

How to Use

  • Soak: stand the discs in a plug tray and add clean, pH-adjusted water; they start to swell within seconds and are fully hydrated in about 4–5 minutes. Let the excess drain so the plug is moist, not dripping
  • Sow or strike: put a seed or a cutting into the centre hole
  • Propagate: keep warm and humid, ideally in a propagator, until roots show through the sides
  • Transplant: move the whole plug into coco, rockwool, soil or a hydroponic system
