Description

A two-part hydro base for flowering and fruiting, built for hard-water areas

VitaLink Hydro MAX Bloom Hard Water is the flowering half of VitaLink's two-part hydroponic base nutrient, formulated for growers whose tap water is naturally hard. Part A and Part B together carry the complete macro and micronutrient balance from flower initiation through to the final week, with fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients - iron chelated with EDDHA so it stays available across the whole pH range - to keep uptake high when demand peaks. Its stability suits recirculating and run-to-waste systems alike, and it will not taint the flavour of herbs, salad, fruit or vegetables. It takes over from Hydro MAX Grow when flowers first show.

Key Benefits

  • Flowering formulation - the balance shifts toward phosphorus and potassium for flower set, fruit fill and ripening
  • Hard water version - matched to supplies reading EC 0.6-0.8, so the reservoir is not overloaded with calcium and magnesium the tap already carries
  • Fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients for uptake through the heaviest weeks of demand
  • EDDHA-chelated iron that stays available as pH drifts late in flower
  • Stable in every system - DWC, NFT, aeroponics, flood and drain, drip and run-to-waste, in clay pebbles, perlite, rockwool or mapito
  • Clean mineral formula that keeps drippers and lines clear through an eight-week bloom

Small flowers, poor fruit set and pH creep on hard water

Hard tap water already holds a lot of calcium and magnesium. Feed it a soft-water bloom nutrient and the extra minerals push the solution alkaline and lock away the phosphorus and potassium that flower size and fruit set depend on. The Hard Water Bloom is balanced for that starting point, so the pH holds steadier through flowering and the P and K reach the plant when it needs them most.

How to Use

  • Check your water first: at EC 0.6-0.8 use this Hard Water version; at 0.4-0.5 either version works; below 0.4 use the Soft Water version.
  • Shake both bottles, fill the reservoir, add Part A and mix, then Part B and mix. Never combine A and B undiluted, and always use equal amounts of each.
  • Flower initiation, weeks 1-2: 3-4 ml/L of each part, total EC 1.4-2.3.
  • Flowers increasing to peak, weeks 3-7: 3-4 ml/L of each, total EC 1.6-2.4.
  • Week 8: plain water only at pH 5.5.
  • pH 5.8-6.5 throughout; VitaLink pair it with Turbo+ at 0.5-1 ml/L and Buddy PK from week 2.

Feed Chart
VitaLink Hydro MAX Bloom Hard Water · flowering phase, 12 hours of light
Stage A and B, each per 1 L Total EC
Weeks 1–2 — flower initiation 3–4 ml 1.4–2.3
Weeks 3–4 — flowers increasing 3–4 ml 1.6–2.4
Week 5 — peak flowering 3–4 ml 1.6–2.4
Weeks 6–7 — final flowering 3–4 ml 1.6–2.4
Week 8 — flush water only, pH 5.5
Note — VitaLink's own chart. EC figures assume a background EC of zero, so add your tap water's EC. Always use equal amounts of Part A and Part B; add A, mix, then B, mix. pH 5.8–6.5. Hard Water formulation: VitaLink recommend it where your water reads EC 0.6–0.8; at 0.4–0.5 either version works.
