Description
A two-part hydro base for the vegetative weeks, built for hard-water areas
VitaLink Hydro MAX Grow Hard Water is the vegetative half of VitaLink's two-part hydroponic base nutrient, formulated for growers whose tap water is naturally hard. Part A and Part B together supply the complete macro and micronutrient balance a plant needs from transplant to the end of veg, with fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients - iron chelated with EDDHA so it stays available across the whole pH range - to keep uptake and photosynthesis strong. Its stability suits recirculating and run-to-waste systems alike, and it will not taint the flavour of herbs, salad, fruit or vegetables. Switch to Hydro MAX Bloom when flowers first show.
Key Benefits
- Vegetative formulation - the nutrient balance for root, stem and leaf growth in the first four weeks after transplant
- Hard water version - matched to supplies reading EC 0.6-0.8, so you are not stacking calcium and magnesium on top of what the tap already carries
- Fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients for faster uptake and greener, more vigorous growth
- EDDHA-chelated iron that stays available even as pH drifts, so plants never run short of the element chlorophyll depends on
- Stable in every system - DWC, NFT, aeroponics, flood and drain, drip and run-to-waste, in clay pebbles, perlite, rockwool or mapito
- Clean mineral formula that keeps drippers and lines clear
Slow starts, pale leaves and lockout on hard water
Hard tap water already holds a lot of calcium and magnesium. Feed it a soft-water nutrient and the extra minerals push the solution alkaline, throw the EC reading out and lock other elements away, showing up as pale, slow vegetative growth. The Hard Water Grow is balanced for that starting point, so the pH holds steadier and the plant gets the nitrogen-led balance veg growth actually needs.
How to Use
- Check your water first: at EC 0.6-0.8 use this Hard Water version; at 0.4-0.5 either version works; below 0.4 use the Soft Water version.
- Shake both bottles, fill the reservoir, add Part A and mix, then Part B and mix. Never combine A and B undiluted, and always use equal amounts of each.
- Transplant, week 1: 1-2 ml/L of each part, total EC 0.5-1.0.
- Small plants, week 2: 2-3 ml/L of each, total EC 1.0-1.5.
- Medium to large plants, weeks 3-4: 3-4 ml/L of each, total EC 1.4-2.1.
- pH 5.8-6.5 throughout; VitaLink pair it with Root Stim at 1 ml/L falling to 0.5 ml/L.
- At flower initiation switch to Hydro MAX Bloom Hard Water A and B.
