The Vortex 16in Oscillating Pedestal Fan is a freestanding circulation fan built around a heavy, solid circular base rather than the traditional lightweight cross-foot design, which keeps the fan planted firmly in place and reduces the wear and wobble that a lighter base can develop over time under continuous use. It fills the gap between clip-on fans, which are limited by where a tent's poles happen to be, and wall-mounted fans, which need a fixed drilling point — a pedestal fan can simply be moved to wherever the canopy needs airflow that week.
The 400mm (16in) fan head sits on an adjustable-height pedestal stand and offers full 90-degree horizontal oscillation plus 30 degrees of vertical tilt, so airflow can be spread widely across a bench or focused on a specific problem area such as a hot spot under the lights. Three speed settings give enough range to run gently while cuttings or young plants are still establishing, then step up as the canopy fills in and needs stronger movement to stop humidity sitting in dense foliage. A poly-coated, finger-safe mesh grill covers the blades throughout.
As with any circulation fan, it should move air across and around the canopy rather than blast it directly onto one area, and is best given occasional rest periods rather than run flat out continuously for weeks on end.
