The same reliable 16in pedestal fan on a compact X-shaped base
This is the X-Base version of Vortex's 16in oscillating pedestal fan, built on a lower-profile, four-point X-shaped foot rather than the heavier circular base used on the standard model. The X-Base takes up a smaller footprint on the floor of a tent or grow room, which matters where space around pots, trays or irrigation lines is tight and a wide circular base would get in the way or need to be worked around.
Mechanically it is the same fan as the circular-base model: a 400mm (16in) head on an adjustable-height pedestal, full 90-degree oscillation, 30 degrees of vertical tilt, three speed settings and a finger-safe mesh grill. The choice between the two base styles comes down to floor space and stability preference — the X-Base slots more easily between rows of pots or into a corner, while still providing enough of a footprint to keep the fan from tipping at normal operating speeds.
As with any circulation fan, the goal is gentle, constant movement across the canopy to stop still air and humidity building up around the foliage, not a direct blast at close range, and giving the fan periodic rest breaks rather than running it continuously extends its working life.
