Description
Turn a sealed sheet of plastic into a proper doorway
This 2m peel-and-stick zipper creates a reusable access point through polythene or reflective sheeting, so a partitioned room, drying space or temporary enclosure can be opened and closed without tearing the sheet or losing light control. The adhesive backing bonds straight to the plastic, and the heavy-duty zip runs smoothly over the full 2m length - tall enough for a full-height doorway. It is the standard way to build a clean entrance into a sheeted-off area, whether you are dividing a room, sealing a corridor or boxing in a work zone.
Key Benefits
- Full 2m length - gives a genuine full-height opening rather than a crawl-through gap.
- Peel and stick fitting - no tools, no tape, no sewing; the adhesive strip bonds directly to sheeting.
- Keeps light where it belongs - a closed zip restores the seal, so a partitioned dark room stays dark.
- Protects the sheeting - the zip takes the wear instead of the plastic tearing at a cut edge.
- Works with any enclosure - grow room partitions, drying spaces, greenhouse divisions and temporary work areas.
The Problem with Cutting Access into Sheeting
A slit cut in polythene lasts about a fortnight. The edges split, the tape you patched it with peels off in the humidity, and light leaks straight through whatever gap is left. That matters if you are running a dark period on one side of a partition. A bonded zip gives you a repeatable, sealed opening that survives daily use and can be closed properly every time.
How to Use
- Fix your sheeting across the opening with a staple gun or strong tape.
- Wipe the plastic clean and dry where the zip will sit.
- Peel the backing and press the zipper down the centre of the sheet, smoothing as you go.
- Unzip fully, then run a scalpel down the inside of the zip to open the sheeting.
- Press the adhesive firmly along its full length before first use.

Questions & answers
How long is the zip?
2 metres, tall enough for a full-height doorway.
How does it compare with the Heavy Duty Peel & Stick Zipper?
Both are 2m self-adhesive zips for making a door in plastic sheeting. The Heavy Duty Zipper also comes in a wider version.
What does it stick to?
Polythene and reflective plastic sheeting. Wipe the plastic clean and dry first, then press the adhesive down firmly along its full length.
How do I open up the sheeting?
Stick the zip down the centre of the sheet, unzip it fully, then run a scalpel down the inside of the zip.
Will it keep light out?
Yes. A closed zip restores the seal, so a partitioned dark room stays dark.
