Description
Scrub Grow Room Odours Without Choking Your Airflow
The AC Infinity Duct Carbon Filter strips odours and airborne chemicals out of extracted air before it leaves your grow tent or grow room. Each filter is packed with a 38mm bed of Australian virgin RC412 activated charcoal rated at 1200+ IAV, held between two layers of steel mesh with a rust-resistant gunmetal finish and capped with reversible aluminium flanges. The range runs from a 100mm (4 in) filter rated at 357 m³/h up to a 315mm (12 in) filter rated at 2,834 m³/h, so there is a size to suit an AC Infinity Cloudline or any other inline fan of the same diameter. Extra-long XL versions of the 100mm, 150mm and 200mm filters carry a longer charcoal bed for a longer working life and more airflow, up to 1,580 m³/h.
Key Benefits
- RC412 carbon at 1200+ IAV — fine, high-density pores give a large surface area for fast odour adsorption
- 38mm bed with a wide-open mesh — air passes freely, and AC Infinity rate the design to extend carbon life by up to 33%
- XL extra-long option — a longer body holds more charcoal for a longer working life and higher airflow: 883 m³/h for the 150mm XL against 697 m³/h for the standard 150mm
- Reversible flanges — move the flange to the opposite end to bring less-used carbon into play and prolong the working life
- Intake or exhaust — fit it ahead of the fan to stop smells leaving the room, or on the inlet to clean incoming air
- Two washable pre-filter cloths keep dust out of the charcoal, with hanging straps and rope clip hangers supplied
- Built for humid rooms — dual steel mesh with a rust-resistant gunmetal finish (galvanised on the standard sizes, stainless on the XL) stands up to corrosion
Odour, Heat and Humidity Leaving the Grow Space
Plants growing indoors give off strong smells — herbs, tomatoes and flowering crops especially — and feeds, teas and damp growing media add to it. Every cubic metre your extractor fan removes to control heat, humidity and airflow carries that smell out with it. Drawing the air through a carbon filter first lets you keep extraction running hard for healthy plants and fresh CO2 at the canopy while the charcoal traps odour molecules and VOCs. Sizing is what makes it work: a filter rated below the fan restricts airflow and saturates early, while one matched to the fan keeps the room ventilated and the smell contained.
How to Use
- Choose the size that matches your fan's duct diameter, with a filter airflow rating at or above the fan's output
- Fit a pre-filter cloth over the carbon body before first use
- For extraction, hang the filter high in the tent where warm air collects and connect it to the intake side of the fan; for intake, fit it on the inlet so incoming air passes through the carbon
- Clamp every joint so no air can bypass the charcoal bed
- Wash the pre-filter when it looks dusty, and reverse the flange when odour control starts to fade

Frequently Asked Questions
Which size carbon filter do I need for my fan?
Match the filter's duct diameter to the fan and make sure its airflow rating is at least the fan's output. A 150mm fan moving up to 697 m³/h suits the 150mm filter; if your fan pushes more than the filter is rated for, step up a size and use a duct reducer so the carbon is not overloaded. The XL versions of the 100mm, 150mm and 200mm hold more carbon and carry higher ratings — 510, 883 and 1,580 m³/h — so they suit a fan running close to the standard filter's limit, or anyone who wants longer between replacements and has room for the extra length.
Can I use it as an intake filter as well as for extraction?
Yes. AC Infinity design it for both. On the extraction side it stops odours leaving the grow space; on the intake it cleans the air coming in.
Will it fit an AC Infinity Cloudline fan?
Yes. Each filter follows the standard duct sizes AC Infinity use for the Cloudline range, so a 150mm filter connects to a 150mm (6 in) Cloudline, a 200mm to an 8 in and so on. It fits any other brand of inline fan with the same duct diameter too.
How can I make the carbon last longer?
Keep a clean pre-filter on it — two are supplied, so one can be washed while the other is fitted — keep humidity under control, and reverse the flange when performance drops so the air passes through less-used carbon.
Does the filter come with a fan or ducting?
No, this is the carbon filter on its own with its pre-filters and hangers. Pair it with an inline fan and ducting of the same diameter, or choose an AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit for a matched fan, filter and ducting set.
